Last few days left to avail the condonation route for AY 2016-17 & 2017-18

If Tax Audit Report in Form 10B has been filed after the due date specified u/s 139 but the income tax return is filed well within the time, the same was condoned by the CBDT vide Circular dated 22.05.2019. The last date to admit and dispose of the applications is 31.03.2020.

Even for AY 2018-19 and subsequent years, if form 10B is delayed upto 365 days, the authority has been given to Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions) (CIT -E ) to condone the delay after satisfying themselves that there was a reasonable cause.
The assessee can file an application for condonation of delay before the CIT -E , and get the relief from tax demands raised by the assessing officer/CPC.
