  • For this purpose, Form FC-4 has been prescribed by the Department.

  • The annual return has to be filed even if no foreign contribution has been received during that year.
  • Details/Documents required for filling FC-4 Return:

  3. FCRA Audit Report
  4. Bank Statement duly certified by the branch manager

Still not 3 years old and worried about how to get foreign funds ?

Not aware you are eligible for getting foreign money even if you are a new trust or society?

The team of  ngoenabler can help you getting the prior permission.

  • Prior permission is usually for those organizations who are not eligible for getting permanent registration (i.e. which has not completed 3 years of establishment).One can say, prior permission is an option given to the NGOs who are newly registered and have foreign donors in pipeline who are willing to donate for the charitable objects carried out by their organization.
  • For prior permission, Form FC-3 needs to be filed.
  • The details/documents required for applying for prior permission are:

a) Project Report of the organization wherein a detailed report with the budget is prepared about the activities that will be carried out under that project and against which the donation is being given by the foreign donors.

b) Letter of intent from the donor organization/individual expressing their interest in donating to the organization for the purpose which is detailed in the project report and specifying the amount too.

c) Registration certificate/MOA is required if the NGO is registered as a Society. In case of Trust, a registered deed is required (the trust deeds are registered with Register of Assurances)

d) Image of Seal of the organization

e) Image of the signature of Chief Functionary

  • Details required for filling the Form FC-3 for registration:
  1. Details of all the members such as name , father’s name, nationality, occupation, relationship with other members, Aadhar number (not compulsory yet) and contact details (email id, mobile number etc…)
  2. Basic details of the organization such as registered address, contact number (separate from that of the chief functionary), email id, website address (not compulsory)
  3. Details of FCRA Designated Bank Account and utilization bank accounts, if any
  4. PAN of the Organization
  5. In case of individual donors, passport numbers and Father’s name is also required
  6. Main Aims &  Objects which can be filled form MOA/Trust Deed
  7. Nature of the organization for which only 5 options have been provided:

a) Religious; b) Cultural; c) Economic; d) Educational; e) Social

It can be chosen depending the nature of activities carried out by the organization.

Are you still in a dilemma how to get the foreign funds for your organization?

Want to know the registration process and regulations thereof?

  • FCRA Registration shall be granted to organizations which completed 3 years of establishment.
  • They should have spent atleast 10 lakhs towards its aims and objects during these 3 years excluding administrative expenditure.
  • Application in Form FC-3 needs to be filled and submitted with a nominal registration fees.
  • Once the application is done, the inspection is carried out by the MHA Department (FCRA Wing) for verifying the existence and genuinety of the organization and its members.
  • Based on the inspector’s report, the registration is either granted or the application is rejected.
  • The documents required for registration are given below:
  1. Statement of income for such utilization in form of audit report shall be required, duly audited by Chartered Accountant.
  2. Registration certificate, if registered as a Society or Trust Deed, in case of Trust.
  3. Activity report for previous 3 years –  A detailed report (preferably with photographs) has to be prepared wherein the activities carried out by the organization is listed.
  4. Image of the seal of the organization
  5.  Image of the signature of Chief Functionary

  • FCRA Registration has to be renewed in every 5 years.
  • Form FC-3 has been prescribed for filing renewal application.
  • Application has to be filed anytime when  6 months are left for the expiry of the date of registration as mentioned in the certificate.
  • Documents required for filing renewal in the prescribed form are:
  1. Registration Certificate of the organization
  2. Memorandum of Association (MOA), in case of Society and Registered Trust Deed in case of Trust.
  3. Registration certificate originally issued by the MHA under FCRA
  4. Image of the seal of the organization
  5. Image of the Signature of the Chief Functionary
  • Details required for filling the Form FC-3 for renewal:
